Thank you for taking the time to read and explore my blog, I hope it finds you sitting comfortably with a good cup of tea/coffee or a glass of something stronger!
I live in Somerset with my partner and our son, who I affectionately refer to as Pumpkin in my blog posts. We have recently relocated from Kent to Somerset, and this blog will hopefully chronicle some of the ups and downs of starting a new life on the opposite side of the country.
From time to time, I will also write about balancing day to day life, with living with Lupus SLE, an autoimmune disease. Most of the time, I put on a positive face about it all, but other times it can be quite crap and it gets the better of me. I find writing to be a therapeutic way of managing a life long health condition and I hope that along the way, it will resonate with others in a similar position and bring a smile to their face and perhaps an extra spoon or two on a tough day (if that sounded a bit cryptic, google spoon theory).
I have made the decision to respect our sons privacy by not using his real name or using photographs of him; at least not until he is old enough to make the decision for himself to allow me to use his name and have his photographs online. I still cringe at the memories of my father bringing out all the embarrassing photographs of me growing up to show anyone that dared visit our family home; I want to spare Pumpkin that sheer embarrassing feeling and after all, at least my photographs could be hidden and this isn’t so easy now with everything online.
Please feel free to contact me with any comments, questions and suggestions and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
